The Big Data & Business Analytics Observatory is focused on portraying and understanding the status of Data & Analytics in Italy. In particular, it aims to:

quantify and analyze the Data Management & Data Analytics market in Italy, i.e., company spending on data management and analytics solutions and services;
monitor the maturity of large companies and SMEs in Data Management & Data Analytics;
identify technology, organizational, and process trends to innovate Data Management & Data Analytics strategy and operations;
collect and spread best practices to formulate and implement an enterprise Data Strategy;
build original frameworks to support specialist users from large Italian organizations;
share best practices to promote the spread of a data-driven culture within business departments;
identify product process and service innovations in the Data Management & Data Analytics industry.

Big Data & Business Analytics Observatory Research is based on an empirical analysis that through surveys and case studies every year involves over a thousand players including IT Managers (CIOs), Digital and Innovation Managers, Analytics Managers, and business line Executives of companies and Public Sector bodies operating in Italy and supply sector business organization representatives

Activities planned by the Big Data & Business Analytics Observatory as part of Research include:

a survey addressed to small and large Italian companies in all market sectors involving over a thousand players including IT managers (CIOs), and Analytics chiefs;
develop frameworks and methodologies to support companies pursuing the roadmap to a Data Driven Enterprise;
multiple case studies of companies that adopted Data Management & Data Analytics solutions, aiming to highlight the main benefits resulting from adoption;
an analysis of main international startups operating in the Data Management & Data Analytics sector that have received funding from institutional investors in the past two years, and of the key indicators of public and private companies in the Data Management & Analytics solution offering.

Events

The events scheduled for the Big Data & Business Analytics Observatory edition are:

three closed-door workshops with representatives of supply and user companies, intended to promote discussion and debate on the world of Data Management & Data Analytics; the meetings will investigate the following topics in depth:
- Data Consumption: accelerate access to insights
- Data Product Management: redefine the data approach
- Data quality & observability: best practices and technologies
two innovation talks, reserved for a select audience of user companies and key supply-side representatives, aimed at building awareness about the use of AI, Gen AI, and automation techniques within the data lifecycle.
a meeting reserved to the Advisory Board and key supply-side representatives, aimed at discussing and validating Research results;
an open, streamable update event to discuss topics related to the Data Economy (Data Act, Data Spaces, European Data Strategy, Data Sharing between companies and between public and private players);
the public Research results presentation conference with round tables and presentations from leading business players, and the Data Management & Data Analytics systems solution provider representatives that are Observatory partners.

Content

The Big Data & Business Analytics Observatory will develop the following content:

a printed Report with main Observatory Research results to be handed out at the Conference;
a series of digital Reports on topics examined throughout the year of research;
a periodic Newsletter addressed to supporters and community companies, collecting the most important news on Data Management & Data Analytics in the international and Italian scenario.
