Who we are
The Digital Innovation Observatories were founded in 1999 within Politecnico di Milano.
As part of the School of Management of our university, the research center conducts its activities building on the solid foundation of the Department of Management Engineering (DIG) and the POLIMI Graduate School of Management.

More than 160 researchers, analysts, and professors are dedicated to creating knowledge on the impact of digital innovation within companies, organizations, and institutions.
Our research is spread in groundbreaking ways through the work of our teams who are dedicated to disseminating the results of our research through more than 1000 publications, 6000 press releases, and 600 events every year and to building communities by managing relationships with over 800 companies in a constant effort to foster the informed, effective, and responsible development and use of digital innovation.
Our research activities are almost entirely funded by more than 650 private companies working together on a pre-competitive basis.
The Digital Innovation Observatories promote the sustainable development culture in all its institutional and research activities, with a direct impact on people working in our research center.
With the average age at 33.1 years, our organization has grown by 52.8% over the past 5 years and has 54% of women in leadership roles.
