The Digital Innovation Observatories of the School of Management of Politecnico di Milano form a research center established to raise cultural awareness in all major areas of digital innovation.

Since 1999, our Observatories have conducted innovative research, characterized by unique features

Conducted with a community of companies from the demand and offer side and institutions sharing a common interest, with the aim to investigate and seize the opportunities generated by digital innovation

Pervasive

With direct impact on primary stakeholders (companies and consumers), institutions, policy makers, and the national economic system through many innovative communication activities (workshops, webinars, podcasts, …) ​

Conducted through interpretive models based on sound empirical evidence, together and within organizations, aiming to find solutions to specific problems affecting specific targets and generate objective results

Focused on the key themes of digital innovation with more than​ 50 research streams, our analysis is independent and based on solid methodologies, pragmatism, and empiricism.

Networking

Our vast networking activity aims to interact, collaborate, and develop realistic relationships with multiple stakeholders.

  • We have actively engaged in driving the digital strategies of more than 1150 companies, collaborating with more than 1800 C-level executives and managers, 100 trade associations, and 400 international startups, 8 of which stemmed from Observatory activities.​
  • We have helped 10 Ministries and 23 institutions to define, introduce, and monitor digital technology policies.​
  • We have involved 26 international universities and more than 3000 students in our scientific research activity.​

Dissemination

Research findings are spread across multiple channels and media, through our content platform launched in 2001 through which in recent years more than 700 reports, 200 infographics, 2400 graphics have been downloaded.​
