HR Innovation
The transformation process of the HR Department following the spread of new technologies, organizational models, inclinations, and people’s expectations, analyzed by the HR Innovation Observatory of Politecnico di Milano.
Objectives of the Observatory
The HR Innovation Observatory was founded in 2010 to address the radical transformation process of the role of the HR Department resulting from the spread of new technologies and organization models, and aims to support HR Executives in this process. The Observatory is focused on being a point of reference in the development of the innovation culture in HR and foster the coming together and development of a community between demand and offering of technologies for the development and management of Human Resource management.
HR Innovation Observatory Research
In its annual edition the HR Innovation Observatory conducts the following research activity in the field of human resources management
- Identify the objectives, challenges, and strategic role of the HR Department
- Analyze the application of some technological trends (Artificial Intelligence, Analytics, VR/AR, Blockchain, etc.) in support of HR processes, such as talent acquisition, training and development, performance management, and welfare & wellbeing
- Study the impact of AI on the business world, from the evolution of organizational models (e.g., “Skill-Based Organization”) to the necessity to develop new skills
- Analyze the frontiers of the labor market, the evolution of the Great Resignation and Talent Shortage phenomenon, and the skills and digital professions most in demand by organizations
- Analyze HR Department practices and initiatives supporting innovation in talent acquisition, training and development, performance management, and welfare & wellbeing
- Analyze the attractive factors, needs and expectations of candidates/employees of the younger generations
- Analyze the impact of demographic trends and longevity on the labor market and within organizational contexts
- Identify the level of well-being, inclusion, and engagement of Italian workers
- Map companies in the Italian and international market that provide HR Tech solutions
Research by the HR Innovation Observatory is based on empirical analysis that, through surveys and case studies, involves more than 200 players each year, including HR directors, training managers, internal communication managers, staff administration managers, and recruitment managers.
