Digital Healthcare
The spread of Digital Healthcare in Italy and the main innovation trends in the “health” sector analyzed from the point of view of healthcare system stakeholders with Digital Healthcare Observatory Research data.
Objectives of the Observatory
Founded in 2007, the Digital Healthcare Observatory aims to:
- conduct analyses and research to help Healthcare sector decision-makers to develop innovation also based on digital technologies;
- create culture, communicate and spread knowledge on innovation in Healthcare matters among Institutions, healthcare facilities, healthcare professionals, patients, etc.;
- organize opportunities for Healthcare sector stakeholders in a pre-competitive context to discuss and compare experiences, promoting better collaboration among the various players.
Digital Healthcare Observatory Research
Now in its seventeenth edition, the Digital Healthcare Observatory is focused on the following Research objectives regarding Innovation in Healthcare:
- provide an estimate of digital Healthcare spending, highlighting current trends;
- analyze the degree of use and of interest in the various Digital Healthcare solutions of healthcare professionals and citizens/patients (e.g., Electronic Health Record, Artificial Intelligence, etc.);
- further explore the level of development digital innovation for hospitals (e.g., Electronic Health Record, departmental systems, etc.);
- identify the opportunities offered by the use of data and Artificial Intelligence in healthcare, analyzing related applications and legislation of reference;
- identify opportunities for digital innovation to support stakeholders across the country (e.g., GPs, COTs, Community Homes, pharmacies, etc.) for the improvement of citizen/patient services;
- monitor the progress of Telemedicine projects in the context of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) and analyze the level of maturity, deployment, and impact on sustainability
- understand the evolving roles and competences of healthcare professionals of the future, in view of the digital transformation.
