The methodology used in this Report

Census of international cases of digital identity and digital identity wallets: during 2025, two existing censuses were combined — the one on digital identity systems (launched in June 2020) and the one on digital identity wallets (launched in February 2023) — in order to obtain a complete and up-to-date view of the international landscape. The unified census is continuously updated. A total of 254 active cases were analyzed, relating to the public and private sectors, and each was categorized based on key variables.
