Objectives of the Observatory
The Design Thinking for Business Observatory was established in 2017 as a result of the growing pervasiveness of this approach to innovation within various application contexts. The Observatory is the point of reference for the community of innovators employing pioneering approaches such as Design Thinking to create value in their companies. The aim of this edition is to explore the role of Design as a practice: not just a method, but a reflective, situated and conscious way of operating. In addition, the Observatory aims to analyze how these practices can be supported by digital technologies such as AI and GenAI.
Design Thinking for Business Observatory Research
As part of the annual edition of Research, the Observatory is to increase awareness regarding emerging Design Thinking transformations, aiming to:
- explore how Design Thinking takes shape in real-world contexts, through everyday decisions, tools, collaborations, and trade-offs;
- examine the growing role of design leadership in orchestrating and driving innovation in complex business contexts;
- explore the role of Design Thinking as a practice as a key tool for developing critical thinking skills to cope with an ever-changing world;
- inspire participants by sharing the innovative views of leading Design Thinkers at international level.
